Molecular Formula: (CH3)2CHCH2CH(OH)CH3
Methyl Isobutyl Carbinol is an excellent frother for the flotation of non‑ferrous metal ores and non‑metallic minerals. It is mainly used for the flotation of non‑ferrous oxide ores or fine‑grained sulfide ores with high clay content. It is widely applied in flotation plants for lead‑zinc ores, copper‑molybdenum ores, and copper‑gold ores around the world, and is particularly effective in improving concentrate quality.
Characteristics: It offers strong selectivity and good frothing activity. It produces fine, brittle, non‑sticky bubbles that are easy to break. It has no collecting ability and requires only a small dosage.
